This piece kind of snuck up on us collectors, and it was a very nice surprise! I’m very glad they are keeping up with the Epcot Theme Park Special Figment series as he’s such a great character and he stands for such an important part of what should be in every child as well as adult’s life; Imagination.
The Artist Signing Event is scheduled to take place May 7th, 2011 at the Art of Disney Gallery in EPCOT. As usual, I am going to end up missing the event by only a couple of weeks (this always seems to happen with me and the Figment pieces)! So needless to say, I had to pre-order him as I had with “Figment Pigment“. Pre-orders just opened up for the new Figment “Noble Knight” and I was able to get my call in this morning. As an added bonus, I even received 10% off with Disney Visa (I’m glad I asked about it)!
The reason I hate pre-orders is because I hate paying the overpriced shipping when I may not have to. But sometimes you just have to do it because you never know how popular the piece is going to be and with a Limited edition of 750 again, I don’t want to take my chances. For instance, if I hadn’t pre-ordered “Figment Pigment”, I wouldn’t have gotten one at all because they all sold out on the day of the event and are now going on the second hand market for over $300 (that’s if you can even find one). However, with “Tuxedo Figment” I was able to buy him months later in the park when I was down there, and you can probably still get him. You just never know how popular it will turn out. I have a feeling this one will be another popular one because you can see his whole body again like the first “Spark of Imagination” Figment (which i would love to own but is now going for over $500 if you can find it).
